Intelligent Life Magazine for iPad

The Economist today announced that it will launch iPad intelligent life, editing its famous quarterly magazine covering the life, culture and style.  Intelligent life is already on the stand-news in Britain and Europe, Canada, but it was only available by subscription to the us so far.

Intelligent life is launched in the USA exclusively on the iPad - publishers claim is one first, and that is yet another sign of the impact that the iPad exercises on the publishing industry.

The application is free to download and currently has a free 'Sampler issue' together with a first issue full free, sponsored by Credit Suisse.

Here's a little more detail on the content and the development of intelligent life:

Launched in 2007, contributions from mixes Intelligent Life by leading authors such as Julian Barnes, Carlos Fuentes, and Douglas Coupland parts specially ordered writers Economist. While sharing The Economist predilection for clear prose, thought-out, dry wit magazine free, it away from political and economic explore areas such as food, wine, books, music, fashion, museums, travel and philosophy.
"Intelligent life has always been recognized for his photography and illustrations, which matches the elegance of the entry itself," said Des McSweeney, editor of intelligent life. ''"Our team has ensured that application gives readers as intuitive as the iPad itself, with each page specially adapted for both portrait format design and landscape.

I have downloaded the application and I am very eager to give it a shot of eye - but so far I can get to download the sampler or full of questions.Avec both, it appears to start a download and gets to what looks like less than 10% on its smaller status bar and is fige.Il has also crashed back to the home screen once when you try to download content.

I don't know if this is a problem in version iOS 4.2 Beta or their servers are being hammered on 1 day launch, or something else.

I'll keep trying and I share thoughts if I get a chance to examine the application correctly.

You can find intelligent life in the store application now, and it is a free application for the time .If you have had the opportunity to give a blow of eye, please share your ideas with us in comments.
