4.2 Beta 3 for iOS iPad adds a new wallpapers just

iPadWallpapers

The latest beta of the next 4.2 for the iPad iOS version was released yesterday to developers. So far, I have not seen the very notable new features in this latest beta reports.

A small improvement in the Beta 3 is that some news of built-in wallpapers have been added. There are now a total of 30 to choose YH ' I tend to feel similar to my friend Joshua Macgasm on most Apple - integrated wallpapers I found a little too distracting for use on the home screen and too impersonal for use on the lock screen.

That said, if I was forced to choose built-in wallpapers, I can get by quite happily with a wave...

WaveWallpaper

For the moment, I'll probably just keep my favorite home iPad screen wallpaper.

Why you all? you are big fans of integrated the iPad wallpapers?

Intelligent Life Magazine for iPad - App A very UN-intelligent

IntelligentLifeMagazine

The screencap above may seem rather boring selection for a new application iPad magazine published by The Economist. This is the case - but perfectly represents my experience with Intelligent Life magazine for the iPad, almost a week after the installation of the application. After many attempts to download the sample and first questions, a couple of reinstalls of the app and use two different iPads, I always saw exactly zero value from content pages. The application fails completely download is available (so-called) starter questions. On each attempt, he gets to what looks like less than 10% of the download and stops and stay stopped.

Judging by the poor rating of two stars and complaints from users in the APP store, I'm far from being the only one to see these and other issues with the application.

Major bugs and issues may afflict almost any application - but seeing that there is no update two weeks after the release is well beyond décevoir.surtout with an application that has been published by a large and prestigious Publisher as The Economist.Je me would expect indie small editor for serious issues like this app a timely people a blue-chip one as The Economist.

So far, intelligent life is surprisingly one intelligent offer.

KindleUpdate

The Kindle app for iPad (and iPhone / touch) has been updated once more, to version 2.3.1. The main change in this security update addresses user complaints concerning an amendment to the iPad views in the previous update of the application landscape.

In the previous update, landscape has changed so that books always appear in two colonnes.Commentaires here and evaluators in the Bank application vehemently complaining about this change and seemed more prefer to see this as an option.

Review - Compass Mobile Stand for iPad

Compass Mobile Stand for iPad

Pyxis Mobile Stand for iPad is touted as a versatile and unique stand the iPad portable. I've become a fan of iPad for months to use the new magical device stands, the idea of having a practice that is easy to take on the thumb is very attractive.

When I first saw the compass mobile booth, I thought that it seemed very promising as a stand that can arise when I'm in with iPad YH ' was excited for it try and over the past few weeks I was precisely that.

CompassMobileiPadStand

Here is some description of Mobile Compass, booth via its pages on the site of its officials, TwelveSouth:

The greatest strength of this superb steel tape is perhaps his versatility.Used upright as an easel, Compass allows you to visualize and interact with iPad in landscape and portrait modes even if you keep your iPad protected in the case of Apple TU portrait of things like iPhoto slideshows, navigation on the iBookstore mode or flipping through a press article online. Activate your iPad on the side, in a position to landscape, and Compass became the ultimate mobile theatre. Enjoy your favorite YouTube videos and the movies feature anywhere you go, keeping the hands-free popcorn and drink.

Compass is designed for those who want to work on their iPad iPad stand.Designed with a fold-away secondary, Compass leg instantly transformations of a bridge to a workstation pint size perfect for typing on the keyboard on the screen of the iPad.Boussole angle is pounding iPad super comfortable, so you can put in the scopes in the opening speech, pages or numbers without neck - evil just work with iPad on your knees. Compass is a small totally mobile tool that can be used on planes, airports, hotels, coffee shops, cafes and even meeting rooms. Of flat folding, this tiny but robust iPad stand takes minimal space inside your bag Briefcase, backpack or computer bag.In short, Compass gets the job.

Folded flat, Compass is a mere 7 inches long by 1 inch scale the size of a candy bar.Small enough to run just about anywhere and use everywhere where you allez.Créé on a desk, café, night stands tables of kitchen counter and almost any flat, stable surface, you might define your sur.Considérez Compass as a portable display your photograph, a mobile cinema easel or a workstation instant iPad is an angle in a wrist-happy position for typing on the screen. Steel heavy, powder coated, Compass is solid and super robuste.Il silicone soft pads on the feet to protect any surface that you define .c ' is the perfect companion for iPad travel.

My thoughts.

Compass mobile booth is everything I hoped that he sera.Il is very cleverly designed, versatile and highly mobile.

When not in use, it folds up to a size small surprisingly - shorter than that of a butter knife, not a lot larger or heavier.

Compass Mobile iPad stand

It comes with a few pleasant to wear, Velvet pouch by making it even easier to pack into a small kit bag when going with iPad it is also easy and fast to get it from the Pocket. It integrates even quite well in a front trouser pocket well that I would not say who would be the way ideal or more comfortable to wear.

Pouch

It works well in its display mode, but where he excelled in his "work mode" is it really presents an ideal typing angle when they are placed in this way - and I found that I can really hammer as well as of the seizure with it.

If you're after a stand-it-all for the iPad, I have not seen any that correspond to the Mobile Stand.Il compass is lightweight, super-easy to carry and ideal for use when you want to do a bit of typing on the iPad while you are away at a coffee shop or similar.

This stand is going for $39.99 purposesyou can get more details, see more photos and place an order on the pages of TwelveSouth to it here:

IPad Esquire Magazine, publishing launch

Esquire Magazine for iPad

Esquire is the well-known latest magazine title to highlight iPad Edition. First issue of the magazine iPad of mens struck the Bank application a few days back.

The first issue of Esquire for the iPad received some little pleasant touches including a short actor Javier Bardem video home and a fresh computer graphics interactive shows the stages of the World Trade Center rebuilding project.

Esquire magazine for the iPad

I've had a look at the application, and it seems fairly well exécutée.Il is not a magazine, I followed never much in its printed form, so I've viewed only slightly thanks to content of the original number. If you are in this type of mens mag range of content seems to be quite good.

You can find Esquire to iPad in the APP store now, price $4.99 it there no sign-up option yet of course, as Apple always has worked a deal with publishers to how this can be implemented in the APP store.

The Bank of APP needs a category for magazines and newspapers

Periodicals

One of my favorites iPad app categories is magazines and newspapers. Except that this is not a real; App Store category because there is not one of these titles yet. Therefore, currently a large number of notable titles in this is dispersed in a number of catégories.Quelques examples:

-Edition of Wired magazine iPad is in the new category

-IPad esquire's way of life

-Black Enterprise to iPad is under the business category

-And Sports Illustrated is under sports

As someone who really likes a number of newspapers and magazines for the iPad titles, I would rather see these give their own category in the store of the APP.Il would make it easier to discover interesting new titles that I pense.Je want even if it is called something old school survey, periodic, or simply log library & magazines - it just its own section.

What do you think? this group application deserves its own category?

More iPad mini rumors this week

7InchiPad

Suppliers of components to Taiwan reported an analyst on Wall Street that next generation Apple iPad conveys a 7 display inches from the retina to high resolution, a camera and 128 GB capacity - and that he could sell 45 million in 2011.

Certainly a nice specifications potential there for a smaller iPad, sort of "Mini" model. The analyst also says the new smaller model will have a microphone or a mini USB port, and replace the first-generation iPad - which all two sound very fired by the hair.

When I first saw the rumors of new iPads 7 inches, I thought they would be not any interest for me.Reflection on further and see models like the one shown above, a possible mini model YH has me more interested ' I certainly not want to replace the current size while I do not want it's another option nude.what ' you think?A new model of iPad the small would be of interest?

Wal-Mart next as iPad retailer?

Walmart

It seems that Wal-Mart will become soon to start to carrying iPad .MacRumors past U.S. retail chain had e-mails and photos sent to propose Wal-Mart will begin to roll on the iPad 1,000 stores as early as next week, more stores get the device in November.

According to the report, initial stock for each output of Wal-Mart will be just 5 units of each model iPad and 10 units iPad Apple accessories.

I am not a frequent consumer Wal-Mart and Apple store will always be my first choice when shopping for iDevices, but it is not difficult to have a few thousand more points for iPad - particularly in areas where there are no Apple stores.

My first trip with the iPad - some quick thoughts

iPad travel bag

I took my first trip shortly with the iPad last weekend. I travel much, for work or pleasure - something my wife and me are seeking to improve quickly - but last weekend, we have a little mini-break family until the beach south of Texas. Our trip was only from Friday to Monday, but the weather was perfect and we had lots of fun.

Our short trip was my first real chance to take the iPad road that nothing is more simply normal outside stuff here at Austin.Je knew that we would have some sections of the interruption during our break and debated with myself about bringing my laptop - and finally decided to light with only the iPad travel and see how it would serve me.

I ended up being very happy with my choice to the iPad only, and of course, I have some thoughts to share about how the iPad was as a companion to travel - here are:

I have kit

Kensington - shoulder bag it bag style big messenger lightweight and compact for the .Heureusement, iPad it held my 3 G iPad in its Vaja cables sync for iPad and iPhone, Otterbox Defender case for my iPhone case 4 and mobile compass stand iPad .the only thing that would not fit completely inside was my Bluetooth keyboard that has slipped into my bag for clothes, sports etc.

Apple Bluetooth keyboard

iPhone 4

Mobile stand for the iPad compass

As I hope, you can see in the photo at the top of the post, it was an extremely lightweight way to travel on the side 'tech bag' of things.I was very pleased to have the case surrounding this Kensington shoulder.Soon, I'll be reviewing - and Compass Mobile - stand but the very short history on them is that they are both now among my favorite iPad accessories.

iPad Battery Life always punt precision ass & taken names

Battery life may not be the most glamorous features, but it is certainly one that continues to impress and facilitate the use of the iPad such a fun day.

Our trip to the coast was slightly more than four hours, in which the iPad was almost continuously on .j ' uses the iOS this iPad 4.2 Beta, it was not only about four hours almost continuously, but he has run a number of applications in the bar of multitasking.

I have had card entire duration to track our progress, see cities that we were passing by and show my daughter how close we were getting in the body of the large blue water that we were direction.MapQuest Navigator has also always on us provide turn by turn voice navigation.I was also Evernote open for General in travel - such as outputs of search and similar remarks.I also checked via email and Twitter periodically.

The iPad left the House with the battery to 100% - and after that it is four hours of fairly heavy use, it was still at 60%.

Sun Texas is also involved some ass.

The iPad received a warning temperature and went on strike for approximately five minutes approximately halfway through the our Friday - trip when we had rejected the AC way and now I (foolishly) in a place where he was a total dose of sunshine through the windscreen.

He recovered nicely and was in service after only a short.

3 G on a 3 G Would Be Nice iPad

During the entire trip, I could not ever get a 3 G signal on the iPad - even when traveling across large metropolitan areas, and even when two of our phenomenal could sit inches below it and benefit from a perfectly good 3 G coverage.

First, I thought it was a problem with version Beta 4.2 - iOS but I discovered since it looks like a problem with iPad itself .the question has persisted since getting back home on Monday night, I spent a long while on the phone with tech at & t and Apple support and have an appointment of genius to my local Apple store to Exchange later this afternoon.

Shined applications and one that sucked

MapQuest Navigator has been a very pleasant surprise. It is just a $ 0.99 iPhone application, but I didn't mind running mode pixel-doubled - as he has done an excellent job routing we properly and providing itinerary parfaite.Notre voice instructions wasn't (fairly well to the South, to the South, South), complicated but it always warned us when it needs and provided great laugh my daughter as we got him say "the Lady in the iPad" was very, very smart.

Evernote did his usual stellar work in my application to go to store quick notes about the trip.

iA writer was superb to take notes on multiple applications and accessories in the weekend review.

The only application that let down side was the one which should be one of my best friends, as a blogger - application WordPress which has recently been updated .j 'could post a post very short for a bit of calm away from the beach with the YHA application News' tried posting another article little with him and was failed total.Je hit the 'Publish' button, it would show le Rouet wait a bit and act as if he had done his travail.Puis I search on the site and find that the post had not obtained it and confirm in the application itself which showed always just below working drafts them locally.

I tried to close the application via the bar, the iPad restart Mulitasking and several attempts to publier.Tout failed with an error message and I could find no solution.Entre this major failure and the lack of striking features basic application, I should say that the last WordPress application is always also lean as he was in his time on iOS.

All in all

I am happy, that I took out iPad for a journey on the road of little .j ' have never once regretted having does not a laptop around - in part because it was still a receive and I had very few moments where I felt like any actual work and partly because the iPad has done well for every bit of 'casual work' I wanted to do - watch new applications, review notes and so on .the ' failed only big was to application individually, as mentioned above.

If someone (please please) would just write a decent blogging for iOS application, I could easily travel with only the iPad even on a residence permit for work I think.

What you all? you have much with your iPads for business or pleasure traveled? if so, what are your thoughts on this?

Intelligent Life Magazine launches of the Economist on the iPad

Intelligent Life Magazine for iPad

The Economist today announced that it will launch iPad intelligent life, editing its famous quarterly magazine covering the life, culture and style.  Intelligent life is already on the stand-news in Britain and Europe, Canada, but it was only available by subscription to the us so far.

Intelligent life is launched in the USA exclusively on the iPad - publishers claim is one first, and that is yet another sign of the impact that the iPad exercises on the publishing industry.

The application is free to download and currently has a free 'Sampler issue' together with a first issue full free, sponsored by Credit Suisse.

Here's a little more detail on the content and the development of intelligent life:

Launched in 2007, contributions from mixes Intelligent Life by leading authors such as Julian Barnes, Carlos Fuentes, and Douglas Coupland parts specially ordered writers Economist. While sharing The Economist predilection for clear prose, thought-out, dry wit magazine free, it away from political and economic explore areas such as food, wine, books, music, fashion, museums, travel and philosophy.

Forbes tells the analyst is China and speaking to iPad component suppliers, one claims it is anticipating shipping enough parts to 13 million in the second half of 2010 iPads pump. And provider expects this to 45 million next year.
