Yay – book Toss and book Toss world Tour As per the iPad

Paper Toss World Tour HD iPad app

Paper Toss HD and Book Toss World Tour HD are both now live in the app store. Hurrah.

Paper Toss was one of my favorite games on iPhone for age, ever since it first came out over a year ago. is still on every iPhone and Touch in our House – and even if it's a free app has continued to get regular updates of new developers, Backflip Studios.

Paper Toss World Tour took a casual game already big and has generated several levels. So I'm very happy to see that both titles now have correct versions iPad.

For those who have not yet had the pleasure to try Toss book, is a game must try. recreates the experience simple but ever-so-nice looking to throw on a crumpled piece of paper in a waste bin. the game has now a couple of different rooms/settings for you to pull in your paper. It seems silly and is, but it is also absolutely addictive and one of those perfect casual games that are great to fill a couple of minutes here and there.

Paper Toss World Tour – as the name suggests – lets you take your paper chucking stunt road, around the globe.

I tried out book Toss World Tour HD a bit this morning – and is every bit as good as his brother on the iPhone ... maybe even a little more challenging – although that could just be that still are always used for the switch to the big screen. Yet, the level of Moscow with snow and rapidly shifting winds seems pretty hard.

You can find book Toss HD and HD World Tour book Toss in the app store now; both are priced at $ 2.99.

Review - Fibre of carbon HoverCoat iPad case

monCarbone HoverCoat carbon fiber iPad case

I had an iPad since the average day on April 3. I love the device even more that I expected, I like. In fact we have two iPads House now - my home Wi - Fi is only used by my wife and a daughter, and I have a new bright model 3 G (Spanish).

Our iPads have become increasingly important and widely used, so it becomes more important to have good deals to protect the bumps and bruises.I ended up trying a pretty good range of cases during the last months - some I liked, I was really (cough, where Apple, cough) .i am average lagging behind the review a handful of them, now that I'll start with my thoughts on the iPad HoverCoat monCarbone carbon fibre case.

Here are some of the features of the case directly to its description on its packaging:

hand crafted, tailor madeaerospace provides style car sport and luxury with high tensile strength and durability with the property of steelReinforced finishSuper resistance comfortsPrecision engineering material resistant to scratches fine contour light-progressive casingComplete access all function of UV-resistant carbon fibre controlsNew iPad prevents discoloration of the case under the Sun

HoverCoat for iPad comes in two styles: black gray is a gloss mirror; and black mystery, matted end .j ' have units for styles and many prefer complete révision.Ils cache also make iPhone versions of this case.

monCarbone HoverCoat case for iPad

I never used the other cases to one of my iDevices - carbon fibre, so I was surprised at how many super thin material is. HoverCoat case is listed as playing in 0.6 mm - and it is amazingly light (42 grams), and supposedly being also very durable.

Here's a quick 'stacked' with naked iPad my daughter on the bottom and my iPad with top HoverCoat:

Stacked2

And here is my quick thoughts on the HoverCoat...

The slip

-Sustainable extremely thin and light, but still lovely.Really almost adds nothing to the iPad profile.

-Feel good and Ribbon the iPad research.

-Easy access to and easy buttons hardware.

Not So Good

-No this is just a case of cover iPad screen protection rear.

-It is stupidly difficult to descendre.Il may have some clever tip to extract the iPad case, but I have not found in the various attempts to use, and it is extremely difficult - especially if you are in a hurry, when you try to it out.

Global

The HoverCoat is a case look very slick and stylish for iPad .If you are not fussed about protection of the iPad front/screen and you want something close to naked you can get, this is quite a good option if you.

HoverCoat iPad if (in the mystery black or grey black style) is going for $ 89.99.Vous can get more info or placing an order the monCarbone for him page here:

IPad killer application characteristic: point text selection entry in iA writer App is better I've ever seen.

TextSlelectionTool

iA writer is a new excellent application written for the iPad. It has a number of strong features, including focus, superb typography, keyboard extensions and synchronization mode with Exchange.

It has a very small but very nice thing it gets quite right. When you click to move the cursor somewhere other than your current position in the text (for example, when you realize you have an error a few lines to the top or need to add a word or two to a previous paragraph), it has a strange precision. In my use of it, it has almost a rate of 100% on my slider getting strikes exactly where I intended first tap .j's used a large number of note-taking and write applications on the iPhone and iPad and never given that come close to the writer iA accuracy in this area.

Once again, it's a very small feature, but I think it is also an incredibly useful, as the need for the selection of a specific text entry point is often and its amazing accuracy allows you to work much more quickly.I don't know what the secret in iA writer sauce that this stunning precision (I guess anything to do with his attention to some specific details about typography), but whatever it is, excellent work by developers!

iPad at work – with archaeologists in Pompeii

iPadinPompei

In Pompei — the longest continually excavated archeological site worldwide — iPad is revolutionizing the work of scientists in the field. Instead of saving notes and sketches on paper, researchers at the site use iPad and applications for the acquisition of invaluable historical data faster, more easily and with much better precision.

It is always to be where a day almost does not go by where I don't see reports of iPad in use by another educational establishment or in another line of work. today, thanks to a great post over at Gear diary, I came across this case study Apple iPad use by a team of archaeologists in Pompeii.

Here is a little more about how the team from the University of Cincinnati has come to choose the iPad to work with:

The idea of using iPad massive collect data that builds the project came from the University of Cincinnati colleague Ellis John Wallrodt, an expert on digital database for archaeological projects.Wallrodt had looked in vain in using various tablet devices for field research, but when iPad was introduced in January 2010, at once knew it was right for their project. "Says Wallrodt, perfectly portable, with a multi-touch screen, no moving parts and a battery that lasts the entire workday, iPad was practically custom built for our needs."

Adds Ellis: "was the ability to enter so many different types of information, everything from architectural elements in fish bones and scale for the actual registration event sequences. That my team could both type and draw on the screen and also examine all previously entered data, has made a single-device ideal solution."

The case study makes for a great read, emphasizing once again that a versatile and powerful device is the iPad. Check it out here when you have a few minutes:

Strange behavior of iOS 4.2 Beta on the iPad - missing applications on a home screen

4Columns

Notice anything missing in the screenshot above? There are only four columns of icons for the application in landscape mode. To add to the strangeness, which occurs on one of the four home screens.

On the same screen I was also see a problem with getting no response when hear the icons on that application on a splash screen .all the other three home screens displayed number correct column applications and had no problem with all applications respond.

I run the first beta iPad on my iPad 4.2 iOS so obviously some strangeness is by for the cours.Et reboot solved problems - I thought that I would like to share here in case any of you have similar problems.Oh and globally iOS 4.2 has been strong and smooth on my iPad - no complaint in terms of overall performance so far - I can easily live with the occasional bit of weirdness.
